ABOUT KOOLART
KoolArt is dance education.
It is my mission to move people through dance,
with elements of yoga, meditation, music and play.
I am an advocate for creativity, art and movement in education. I teach freelance classes and workshops, provide lectures and develop projects across the globe. By working closely with teachers, social workers, aid workers and curriculum developers I help them integrate movement in their daily practice with children. In addition, I write blogs, articles, manual and books about dance education.
ABOUT ME
After receiving my degree in Dance Education (BEd) at the Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg, the Netherlands, I went on to New York, U.S.A. where I followed the International Independent Study Program at Steps on Broadway. Upon my return to the Netherlands I achieved my Master in Education in Arts (MEd) at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
After my studies, I followed multiple courses such as: Yoga for Children, Teaching in Special Education, Teaching and Coaching Teachers, Journalism, Article Writing and Creative Writing. In India and Indonesia I completed two 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings (Hatha/Vinyasa & Yin Yoga).
In addition to developing my own projects, I was a freelance educator for the Dutch National Ballet, the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, The Marnix Academy (primary school teacher training institution), and the Conservatory of Amsterdam and have worked with many young people, educators and children with special needs.
Next to my work as a teacher, I have been a writer and editor for the magazine Kunstzone, I have published articles in other magazines and research journals and was a member of the Advisory Board of Dance and the Child International (daCi).
In 2018, I founded the Moving Children Foundation to create projects for underprivileged children around the world.
